Charity Partner of the Year: Great Falls Rescue Mission
Each year, Montana Estate Lawyers selects a local charity to partner with. We have had great partnerships in the past and have done rewarding volunteer work, including with Special Olympics Montana and Meals on Wheels.
This year, our firm has partnered with the Great Falls Rescue Mission. The Rescue Mission is a Christian non-profit, 24/7 shelter that provides all of its services, food, and programs free of charge. Their vision is to foster a compassionate community that brings about the physical, spiritual, and mental restoration of those in need. Their programs are designed to address the problems linked to poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse by working with those who struggle with lack of education, dysfunctional family, economic stress, and lack of job skills. The Mission houses and serves an average of around 2,300 local people each year.
Our wonderful MEL staff members are volunteering monthly for all of 2024 serving lunch at the Cameron Family Center. Trevor said that the Rescue Mission kitchen staff told him they had never seen somebody that is such a natural with a ladle. Chafaye reported that serving meals to the young children was very special and that they were all very sweet and polite.
The Rescue Mission can always use volunteers, so if you or anyone you know can spare an hour to help serve struggling families in our community, please contact Lynne at 406-205-0691. Don’t worry, no cooking skills are required and they can use all volunteers – even those that aren’t ladle experts like Trevor.
